I recently had some expensive work (17k) done to a Corvette race car modifying the Driveline and almost immediately a very loud horrible grinding noise started emanating from somewhere in the Driveline knowing how dishonest the automotive industry can be I managed to find Auto assess on the internet and hire Karl to act for me the repairer took the car back into the shop and upon listening to the grinding noise immediately came to the conclusion that the torque converter was at fault this was very disturbing as this was a high quality $3,000 part from the US and obviously I had very little recourse from the manufacturer Karl advised me to take the converter to an independent repairer and cut it open to see if anything was wrong I did that and upon cutting open the converter it was found to be in as new condition with nothing wrong at all this was a big relief to me I took the converter back to the repairer and they admitted that yes nothing seemed to be wrong with it they went to the strip down the transmission and looked at the torque tube and apparently couldn’t find the noise and when everything was put back together it seemed to be running ok but even at the end they were still determined to put it down to something to do with the torque converter when there was no evidence at all that it was at fault Karl’s advice to get it tested independently was invaluable as if I had let the repairer cut it open the outcome could have been very different and I could have been up for a bill for thousands of dollars. I’m so grateful that Karl was  here to advise me during this process his services are essential today in what is a very dishonest industry. I cant recommend him enough.
